After the family friendly trailer for A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas, Warner Bros has now released the red band trailer and what a difference the rating makes. The first had some laughs but this one has all the expletives and nudity we’ve come to love and parents have learnt to fear.
It reveals that all the partying and disregard for convention are still in place and director Todd Strauss-Schulson has plenty of fun exploiting the aspect of 3D to humorous effect.
The sequel takes place six years after their escapades at Guantanamo Bay, though the two have since grown apart. When Kumar brings a mysterious package to Harold’s house, he inadvertently burns down Harold’s father’s prized Christmas tree. Their quest is then to replace the tree and find the spirit of Christmas, and possibly get high in the process.
John Cho and Kal Penn return along with Neil Patrick Harris, Patton Oswalt, Thomas Lennon, Danny Trejo, Eddie Kaye Thomas, David Krumholtz, and Elias Koteas.
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas opens in 3D on November 4th, 2011.
