The new trailer is here for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises – packed full of action and ominous warning. Bruce Wayne seeks more enlightenment and Bane reeks havoc and terror upon Gotham. If you haven’t yet caught the IMAX prologue, be sure to check it out before screenings of Ghost Protocol. Tom Hardy‘s Bane is clearly the motivating force of tyranny and if you have seen the prologue, then this new trailer adds to the character’s menace and impending danger to our hero Batman.
We get to see Anne Hathaway – though not as Catwoman – offering a warning to Bruce Wayne of the impending challenges that lie ahead and for unknown reasons her alter ego maybe in cahoots with the villainous Bane. There’s also brief glimpses of Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, which suggests there’s more to their characters than meets the eye.
The trailer also offers closure to the Batman re-invention by Christopher Nolan, which is a sad thought to contemplate as studios will only continue to reboot and damage this filmmaker’s extraordinary vision. Nonetheless an impressive trailer with plenty of exciting imagery, and for fans it’s a great way to celebrate the holidays knowing that next year an incredible movie going experience awaits.
The film stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell and Michael Caine.
