The first trailer has been released for Mel Gibson’s action / comedy Get the Gringo. Originally the film was titled How I Spent My Summer Vacation, but the word ‘Gringo’ is used in the trailer a lot, so the catchier title makes more sense. The actor’s obvious personal troubles has kept him off the screen for a long time, and while he’s older – he proves why he was so watchable in his heyday.
This new flick is shot in the digital format and is quite noticeable in the action scenes – nonetheless it could be a fun movie. Interestingly Get the Gringo will only be getting a theatrical release upon it’s premiere in Austin, Texas where Gibson will take part in a post-screening Q&A. It’s all part of the promotion for the flick being distributed via the VOD market, which has mixed opinions though seems to be the direction the industry is heading.
