A new trailer has been released for the horror film House at the End of the Street starring Hunger Games sensation Jennifer Lawrence. It’s the story of a newly divorced woman (Elisabeth Shue) who moves into a dream house with her daughter Elissa (Lawrence), but soon find out that the small, upscale, rural town that they’re living in has a chilling secret. Turns out that they are now living next door to the home where a grizzly murder took place years before.
Elissa meets Ryan, the boy next door (Max Thierot) who’s psychotic sister murdered their parents. Things go into overdrive when somehow the sister returns with a passion to settle the score with just about anyone. You can be sure there’s a bit of twist going on to which the trailer eludes, but it’s sure to have plenty of thrills to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
The film was originally meant to hit screens February 3rd, then was moved to April 20th, and again to September. Mark Tonderai is directing from a screenplay by David Loucka, based on a story by Jonathan Mostow.
Here’s the synopsis:
Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Elisabeth Shue) and her daughter Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared – leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah’s wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan – and the closer they get, the deeper they’re all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined.
