Teaser trailers have been released for director Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel – they’re both the same aside from the voice-overs provided by Supes’ Earth and Krypton Pa’s. The visuals play more like an ad, with very ambiguous ‘slice of life’ style imagery that’s tied into the Man of Steel’s conflicted emotional/moral dilemma – whether or not be a super hero is the message.
The visuals are handheld and gritty, and the colours are washed out and naturalistic. This puts a new spin on the genre – especially the Superman mythos which has alway been presented using very pristine visuals. With Christopher Nolan shepherding the project as producer – he’s keen to see the flick come across in a less stylised way, and from the looks of the teaser it seems that Zack Snyder has done exactly that.
As a teaser- with little or no effects work complete at this stage, we’re only shown Superman’s’ sound breaking’ ascent through the clouds – however closer to the next years release we can expect some enticing CGI enhanced visuals which will no doubt be impressive – seeing as Snyder excels in the department of super freaky imagery.
Hans Zimmer will be handling the score for director Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot despite initial conflicting reports, and there’s also the possibility that the film may be post converted into 3D.
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Crowe.
