Brandon T. Jackson ( Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) has landed the starring role in the TV adaptation of Beverly Hills Cop. The series will expand upon the world of Detroit-born Detective Axel Foley, with Eddie Murphy reprising the role for the pilot and subsequent episodes from time to time.
The tone of the show will be blend of a buddy-cop and fish-out-of-water procedural, with Jackson playing Aaron Foley, a young police officer keen on making a name for himself while still under the shadow of his father’s legacy. Murphy’s character will now be the Chief of Police in Detroit, while his son follows a similar path pursing crime in the glamorous locale of Beverly Hills.
