A new trailer for Tom Cruise‘s action thriller Jack Reacher has been released. Originally the flick was titled One Shot, based on the novel by Lee Child, which follows the story of an ex-military investigator who is tasked with tracking down a serial sniper.
For this flick, Tom Cruise is in bad-ass mode playing the no-nonsense Jack Reacher, who will stop at nothing to uncover the truth. There have been plenty of detractors of this casting decision, primarily because the character is defined in the novel to be of a significantly imposing physical presence, but watching the trailer Cruise proves that he’s got all the right moves to pull this off, as well as the necessary depth to flesh out this complex character. The trailer has plenty of action and intrigue to insure this should be a very cool movie – with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing.
Cruise is plenty busy at the moment, he’s currently filming the sci-fi themed Oblivion from Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, and next he’ll make Doug Liman‘s sci-fi action film, All You Need Is Kill.
Here’s the synopsis:
When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.
The film also stars Robert Duvall, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, and David Oyelowo.
