Steve Jobs Biopic Starring Ashton Kutcher Release Date Postponed

ashton-kutcher-as-steve-jobs imageThe release of the Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher has been moved from it’s April 19 release to a yet to be determined date. The flick’s release was intended to mark the 37th anniversary of Jobs founding Apple. Directed by Joshua Michael Stern and written by Matthew Whiteley, the flick details the defining moments and influential characters that helped shape Jobs’s vision between the years of 1971-2001.

Made by Five Star Films, a service deal was made with Open Road before the flick closed the recent Sundance Film Festival. The distributors claim there just wasn’t the necessary time to market the film properly before the date – so those waiting to see Kutcher as the founder of the technology titan will have to wait for a new date to be announced, and whether it’s an Oscar worthy performance.

That said there was some initial criticism from Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, who after the first scene was released on-line, said that the tone was incorrect and it didn’t accurately convey events, instead the scene tries to paint Jobs as an all-seeing visionary.
