Some new images over at Just Jared from the set of Guy Ritchie‘s sequel to his mega-successful Sherlock Holmes. These set pics show a scene where the crime deducing sleuths Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law are catching a ride on a horse and carriage. Not much in the way of spoilers just these images which show that production is underway on a sequel just a year since the first, which is quite impressive seeing that some stay in development hell for years.
The cast of the new film also features Stephen Fry as Holmes’ elder brother, Mycroft who has similar if not greater deductive skills than his accomplished sibling. Jared Harris, the son of the late Richard Harris is set to play Holmes‘ mortal enemy Professor Moriarty and also appearing is Noomi Rapace whose character is rumored to be a female gypsy.
The sequel is scheduled for release on December 16, 2011.
