Battle: Los Angeles is making quite a bit of noise on the movie front with an impressive first trailer and big production values that could make this one a mega-hit or at least one hell of a spectacle type movie. There’s a new promo online which should do a bit more for the sci-fi hungry action fan that dwells within us.
A fun bit of trivia is that due to tax incentives the film was actually shot in Louisiana where sets were constructed to resemble L.A, but that’s films for you. Another interesting bit of info is that Hydraulx owned by Greg and Colin Strause were hired to do the FX on the film but Sony is claiming that they’ve incorporated some of the FX development into their film Skyline. However since that film did little damage at the box-office with moviegoers less than impressed, it proves that effects alone don’t make a blockbuster, unless perhaps its a Star Wars prequel.
Battle: Los Angeles stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Peña, Bridget Moynahan and hits cinemas March 11, 2011.
