The Fighter is getting a lot of buzz for it’s raw storytelling and hard hitting performances. The movie has all the trimmings of a realistic story that documents the struggle to overcome the odds but with A-List performers showing us just how it’s done. It comes across as an indie flick with characters and acting driving the story instead of flashy production values with conventional highs and lows. The film is well executed and uses the gritty edge to it’s advantage, something other movies loose so they retain a wider appeal.
The Fighter is based on real life events and is shaping up to be one of the top movie experiences of the year. The flick just opened in limited release with a wider distribution starting December 17th and hits other countries in early 2011.
