Chuck, the hit TV series produced by Warner Bros that blends the world of computer nerd and secret agent, is getting a new leading lady. The show from creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak, stars Zachery Levi playing a computer expert at the local Buy More whose life changes when he receives an email from his former college bud and C.I.A operative which contains all of the US government’s secret information in the form a neural super computer which is downloaded subliminally into his mind. He then becomes a prized asset of the government using the embedded information to complete covert missions whilst still trying to keep his life normal.
Over the last two seasons we were introduced to his father played by Scott Bakula, who turned out to be the master programmer who built the very software which resides within Chuck’s brain. However it would seem that Bakula’s commitment to Ray Romano‘s new show ‘Men of A Certain Age‘ has forced him to relinquish the role with his character being written out. Left with a significant parental void, the story revealed in the season 3 finale (spoiler) that Chuck’s missing mother was actually alive and in some way connected to the whole scheme of things. Here in the final moments of the finale, only a stand-in was used until the final casting decision was made.

At this years Comic-Con it was big news that Linda Hamilton aka the original Sarah Connor had landed the part, in some way due to internet rumor. It seems that fans began circulating her name across the inter-web, and the actress caught wind of the story and reached out to producers.
At the 2010 Comic-Con where Chuck cast and crew have became a fixture event for fans, Linda Hamilton’s role was confirmed by executive producer Josh Schwartz,
She’s been such an icon as an action-female bad-ass mom….The fans put it out there, and she heard about it, and was like, ‘I heard I’m Chuck’s mom.
Her role will be significant as Chuck gets closer to finding out the truth that leads to their inevitable meeting.
It’s going to be a huge part of the season, the search for mom, it’s going to drive so much of season four…….Chuck and Morgan are going to be a pretty bad but good spy team.
The cast of Chuck enter Comic Con 2010
The new season of Chuck starts Sept 20.
