Here’s the trailer for the new Natalie Portman film The Other Woman. Her powerhouse performance in the Darren Aronofsky movie Black Swan could win her Oscar gold as it’s the most original character in years and a film that is extremely engrossing.
The Other Woman also stars Scott Cohen and Lisa Kudrow and is based on the Ayelet Waldman novel Love and Other Impossible Pursuits. You can catch it on Video On Demand by IFC on January 1st 2011, with a theatrical release slated for February 4th.
It’s the story of a Harvard law school graduate who begins working at a law firm and falls for her boss. Though he’s married at the time the two begin a relationship and eventually marry.They soon have a new baby daughter who suddenly dies one day which makes life difficult raising her new stepson with the constant meddling from the ex-wife.
Whilst the story doesn’t seem to have the dark edge that made Black Swan so intoxicating, it should be a dramatic and poignant flick that will be worth catching to see the talented actress and her ability to create complex characters.

Although movie is near-fantastic, it’s a tribute to Portman that she outshines all others as the frail, breakable dancer who’s gradually losing it.
