Here are some newly released hi-rez images from the upcoming Steven Spielberg – Peter Jackson flick The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn. They were included in the Empire magazine release from November but have only been available as scans from the mag, now we have the clean images thanks to filmofilia.
The new adaptation of the iconic character created by the Belgian artist Georges Rémi, better known by his pen name Herge, is the first of a planned trilogy of CG films. The cutting edge technology will bring 3D motion capture films to a whole new level and such a giant leap in film making with legendary director Spielberg at the helm is certainly exciting. Peter Jackson is overseeing the digital artistry with his FX house Weta digital who created visuals for James Cameron’s Avatar, so it will be interesting to see how the facial animation looks compared to the much criticized de-aging of Jeff Bridges in Tron: Legacy.
The film shows Tintin’s (Jamie Bell) first meeting with Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) and the discovery of clues to the treasure of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. They set out to find it with Detectives Thomson (Nick Frost) and Thompson (Simon Pegg) and a prison escapee who also tried to find the treasure. It was written by Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Joe Cornish (Ant-Man) and Steven Moffat (Doctor Who) and co-stars Daniel Craig as Red Rackham, Toby Jones as Silk, Mackenzie Crook as Ernie, Tony Curran as Lt. Delcourt, Cary Elwes as Pilot and Gad Elmaleh as Ben Salaad.
The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn is set to hit cinemas in the U.K on October 26, with Europe to follow and arrives in the U.S December 28, 2011.
