As the air date draws near for the prequel series to the Starz entertainment mega hit Spartacus: Blood and Sand, some new promos have made their way online.
As most people know series star Andy Whitfield battled non-Hodgkin lymphoma and forced production on the second season to be postponed. A flashback episode was since expanded to fill the void in the hopes the production would give the actor the necessary time to get better. At one stage Whitfield looked like he had recovered and was in training for the second season and was able to film scenes that feature in the latter part of this mini-series.
At present Starz has considered re-casting the role but unlike Bewitched, fans would notice the change and the show would loose credibility. Perhaps the best course of action is to consider a spin-off, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Deadline reported in November that Aussie actor Liam McIntyre was being considered for the role should Starz entertainment decide to recast, though nothing has been announced and they may just end the show altogether.
Andy Whitfield is still undergoing treatment but is looking well and spending time with his family, you can connect with the official fan page over on facebook where regular updates and pics show-up.
We wish Andy all the best and hope that he recovers soon and perhaps when he’s well and if Starz have waited, he could return to a role which he defined.
For now lets look at the new six-episode miniseries Spartacus: Gods of the Arena which follows the original champion of the House of Batiatus. Returning are John Hannah, Lucy Lawless and Peter Mensah with new cast members Dustin Clare, Jaime Murray and Marisa Ramirez.
Synopsis:
The House of Batiatus is on the rise, basking in the glow of its infamous champion Gannicus, whose skill with a sword is matched only by his thirst for wine and women. These are the times a young Batiatus has been waiting for. Poised to overthrow his father and take control, he’ll freely betray anyone to ensure his gladiators are in the highest demand. And he’ll have his loyal and calculating wife Lucretia by his side for every underhanded scheme, drawing on the brazen talents of her seductive friend Gaia when it counts. Together, they will stop at nothing to deceive the masses, seize power, and bleed Capua dry in this audacious prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
Spartacus: Gods of the Arena airs January 21 at 10 p.m ES/PT on Starz.

Hello
My name is Sergey and I am a co-founder of Sweaty Quid Freelancer Marketplace where you can buy and offer all kinds of online solutions varying from backlinks and guest post to explainer video clips, infographics and articles for your website.
I strongly believe that you and your site can truly benefit from Sweaty Quid, no matter if you want to provide your services or hire freelancers to assist you to grow your business.
I have been a freelancer on numerous market places for in excess of 5 years and have had my accounts arbitrarily shut down, my revenues pocketed and I simply had a hard time with many low quality freelancers. After much aggravation, I decided to launch my very own freelance marketplace that would do things differently and a lot better.
After almost one year of caffeinne powered nights, myself and my crew at Creative Bear Tech have built up Sweaty Quid from ground up. One month into our launch we have managed to bring in a very good number of top quality freelancers and an exceptionally high number of repeat buyers. I strongly believe this functions as a testament to our success.
Sweaty Quid is a spam-free and transparent market place for high quality freelancers and buyers. We are rigorously banning all spammy sellers who do not pass our quality threshold and leave only the very best ones. Keeping up with the latest technologcal developments, we also take cryptocurrency as one of our payment methods. Our ethos that defines us is that sometimes less is more, especially when it comes to quality freelancers.
We are still very new in comparison to other freelance marketplaces, but we are already punching above our weight.
I would love to welcome you personally to join Sweaty Quid Freelancer Marketplace!
Kind regards
