The Golden Globes 2011 Winners

Here’s the list of winners in their respective categories for this years Golden Globes. There were some surprises, but overall the expected players were rewarded. ‘The Social Network’ won big in the main categories as did the actors of ‘The Fighter’ who hit the mark. Natalie Portman confirmed what most people already knew, recognized for her incredible performance in ‘Black Swan’, and TV’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’ got some deserved acclaim as did the singing sensation show ‘Glee’.

Surprisingly Johnny Depp who had two nominations lost out, as did Michael Douglas for his reprisal of his defining character Gordon Gekko. The mega successful sequel ‘Toy Story 3’ beat out ‘Despicable Me’ as the year’s top animated film. Robert DeNiro got the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his outstanding body of work.

The odds are now certainly in favor of the films and actors likely to win accolades come Oscar.
