Thanks to NBC and the gang at Saturday Night Live, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey have brought their famous characters out of retirement for a reunion on the comedy showcase that continues to be a launching pad for veritable talent. The segment begins with a reference to Phil Hartman‘s ‘Cable 10 Public Access’, with the Wayne’s World duo appearing in the cold open for the SNL episode, their last appearance together was at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards.
After their usual exchange and running jokes, they give us their Oscar picks for this year. If you’re like most people unsure whether ‘The Social Network ‘will claim the top prize, or even ‘The King’s Speech’ – Wayne and Garth have their opinions which should be enough for anyone planning to skip the telecast.
The two haven’t missed a beat with their characters in fine form, perhaps they should consider making Wayne’s World 3. The first film was immensely successful worldwide despite the fact that most audiences were unfamiliar with their skits on SNL, people were just hooked on the trailers and got to know the characters watching the first film.
Party on!…and enjoy Wayne and Garth’s Oscars Picks.
