Lex Will Be Back, But Will He Be The Same?

Michael-Rosenbaum_Nov18_2010While fans are happy that Michael Rosenbaum is returning to help bring Smallville to a fitting conclusion, it seems that the thespian is not willing to do all that it takes to fully embrace his character. While few can doubt his acting chops, it seems that Rosenbaum is still not willing to pick up the dreaded electric shaver one last time.

Speaking with his hometown paper, the Evansville Courier & Press, the actor said that he plans to wear a bald cap for his return.

There are other projects that I am working on that require hair. (My hair) takes four months to grow back.

While it’s something of a scary thought to hear the super cool Lex is worried about baldness, fans must appreciate the actor is returning mostly for them, having finished with the part 3 years ago.

I just felt like it was the right thing to do…I felt the fans created the show, and they followed me at such a level that I couldn’t say no. … I felt after 160 episodes, that was it. But the fans didn’t think so. I’m doing it for them.

Speaking of the show, he never imagined that it would run for so long and that Tom Welling is no longer looking like the high school grad he once was.

Now it’s been on three more years. Clark is starting to look like he’s in his 30s. Lex is an integral part of the show. No one expects a show to last 10 years. I gave them seven years and I thought it was pretty commendable.

As for the Smallville finale, at least die hard fans can look forward to a final face-off between Lex and Clark, something which Rosenbaum has high hopes for.

lex and clarkObviously there’s unfinished business between Clark and Lex that has got to get resolved. Our future is depending on it.

Smallville airs Friday’s on The CW.
