MTV recently sat down with Noomi Rapace whilst on the set of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The Swedish sensation is best known for playing Lisbeth Salander in ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ series, and she’s set to begin work on Ridley Scott’s Alien themed sci-fi flick Prometheus later this month.
The actress was always the front runner for the role of Elizabeth Shaw and for the first time talks about the part, working with the legendary filmmaker and the similarities that might exist between her character and Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley – which set the bar for strong female roles in a traditionally male dominated genre.
Charlize Theron joined the cast in early February after her role of Vickers was significantly expanded to entice the actress, though her character is still something of a supporting part so she might not be around by the end credits. Michael Fassbender will play an android similar to Lance Henriksen‘s role in ‘Aliens’, and it was recently announced that Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie and Rafe Spall have all joined the cast.
Check out what Noomi had to say about her part in ‘Prometheus’ which many suspect won’t completely leave behind it’s Alien origins. The film is really starting to take shape and could be a momentous return to the genre by master filmmaker Ridley Scott.
