Kate Beckinsale is back in her super sexy black latex / leather costume that was so distinct in the first two Underworld films. While the third was more of a showcase of Michael Sheen‘s character, the film sorely missed Kate’s presence and at one stage it looked like the franchise was all over – when the main star is absent it’s usually a last ditch effort by the studio to continue. With Kate’s return this is obviously not the case with producers hoping this new installment of Underworld helps kick start another trilogy.
With filming underway, the cast is still being finalized with Michael Ealy recently signing on, it’s not known if Scott Speedman’s character will feature and we’re yet to hear if any other actors from the previous installments are returning.
On the Vancouver set of Underworld 4, the 37 year old actress looks like she’s in great shape reprising her vampire role which should prove very successful for the continuation of the series. This time round her hubby Len Wiseman is making the Total Recall reboot so he’s only on-board as a producer with Swedish directors Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein at the helm with the film being shot in 3D.

After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Nissa, and when she finds her they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all.
