Filming has resumed on Barry Sonnenfeld‘s Men in Black 3 after a four month long hiatus to resolve script issues which required a major rewrite. Now with the flick back in production we have new images which also offer a first look at Josh Brolin playing the younger counterpart of Tommy Lee Jones’ character, Agent K.
In the story, the villain played by Jemaine Clement travels back in time to kill Agent K, though this will result in a chain of events that destroy the world. It’s up to Agent J (Will Smith) to also go back in time and protect Agent K and the universe. The time travel is reportedly set in the 60’s where Agent K would be a boy at best – so there must be a plot point where a younger Agent K has traveled to that time which is where the villain goes and Agent J must follow.
The film also stars Alice Eve, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Rip Torn and Johnny Knoxville.
Men in Black 3 opens in 3D on May 25, 2012.
