Here’s the official trailer for Immortals, a Greek epic directed by Tarsem Singh and starring the next Superman Henry Cavill as the warrior Theseus. It made quite an impression at the 2011 WonderCon with it’s flashy visuals that have similarities to ‘300’.
The story sees a brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion played by Mickey Rourke, terrorizing Greece in search of the long lost Bow of Epirus. With the invincible Bow, he will be able to overthrow the Gods of Olympus and become the undisputed master of his world. He soon invades one village and kills the mother of the stonemason Theseus, played by Cavill, who swears to avenge her death. When he meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra played by Freida Pinto, she has visions of his future which shows that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a group of followers and begins a desperate battle for the future of humanity.
All up the trailer looks quite exciting, though heavily steeped in Greek Mythology which can be a lot to buy into, it should nonetheless be an entertaining flick with plenty of popcorn visuals to keep us happy until the end credits.
Immortals arrives November 11th,2011.
