It seems that TV is destined to be filled with police procedurals and doctors having romantic encounters between ops with the cancellation of another Sci-Fi show.
V started off a an exciting reboot to a classic show that kind of got a bit out of hand in it’s second season, though still managed to be entertaining. It was cancelled by ABC in early May, though the writing was on the wall when the second season order was cut down to just 10 episodes and it’s airdate was pushed back from it’s original November 2010 start date.
The show’s stand-out was the alluring and stunning beauty Morena Baccarin, who played the diabolical Queen, Anna. However screens won’t we left too long without this talent with the announcement that she has joined Showtime’s Homeland.
The upcoming thriller is from 24 executive producers Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, and focuses on Marine Sergeant Scott Brody (Damian Lewis), who returns home after being lost in Iraq for eight years, though CIA officer Carrie Anderson, played by Claire Danes suspects he’s been compromised.
Baccarin is joining the drama as the soldier’s strong wife Jessica Brody, replacing Laura Fraser who was in the pilot. The series also stars Mandy Patinkin and is slated to debut on Showtime later this year.
