Here’s the latest trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger, the next tentpole flick from Paramount/Marvel Studios. The buzz on this one is said to be good which goes to great lengths to recreate the look of the 1940’s. That said they were shooting extra scenes as recently as April to include Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury to tie in the movie with other Marvel properties, particularly The Avengers which Joss Whedon is directing. Apparently the not so secret revelation is that (spoiler alert) time travel plays a part and sees the Captain transported to the present day; meeting up in Times Square – you’ll have to wait til the end credits to see it (similar to Iron Man). It’s all to help set up the sequel which writers Stephen McFeeley and Christopher Markus are currently working on.
From director Joe Johnston, the film stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones, and Hugo Weaving.
Captain America: The First Avenger opens in 3D on July 22, 2011.
