You know that a horror movie entitled Dream House is anything but when recently married stars Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz open a front door with a look of certain peril on their faces. This one’s sure to end in a series of untimely accidents that fans of this genre should enjoy. From Oscar-nominated director Jim Sheridan (In the Name of the Father) it’s about a family who move into their new home only to learn that it was the scene of a brutal family killing years before, with the father the only survivor and suspected culprit.
The trailer hints that Craig might fall prey to the same forces of evil and go on his own axe wielding killing spree, possibly screaming the phrase “Here’s Johnnny!” but that would be expecting too much. All up it looks like it could be quite an intense thriller with plenty of acting talent on board including Naomi Watts to make this a suspenseful movie going experience.
Here’s the synopsis:

But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived. When Will investigates the tragedy, his only lead comes from Ann Paterson (Watts), a neighbor who was close to the family that died. As Will and Ann piece together the disturbing puzzle, they discover that the story of the last man to leave Will’s dream house will be just as horrifying to the one who came next.
