The first trailer for Killing Them Softly has been released from director Andrew Dominik. The flick stars Brad Pitt as a mob enforcer who’s tasked with investigating the robbery of a high-stakes poker game. Pitt previously worked with director Dominik on the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. The flick also stars former TV mobster James Gandolfini, as well as Goodfellas alum Ray Liotta.
Killing Them Softly is an adaptation of George V. Higgins’ Boston crime novel Cogan’s Trade, and was the film’s original title. It’s one of the years most anticipated movies with it’s jarring sense of humor and violence, and received a positive response when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film also stars Richard Jenkins, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, and Vincent Curatola.
