Steven Soderbergh brings us another one of his uplifting story’s in Contagion, a new flick that looks at the possibility of a highly infectious virus decimating the global population. While this undoubtedly is an intense thriller story, the trailer offers little hope of a happy ending with some of it’s big name stars not sticking around too long … sorry Gwyneth.
That said hopefully this movie has a positive resolve or at least some bad guy to defeat – such as a deranged government official who plans to reduce government debt by wiping out half the masses.
Contagion looks like a nail biter of a movie, the script is by Scott Z. Burns who also wrote the Matt Damon flick ‘The Informant!’, and although it seems like a downbeat theme, the movie could be highly infectious. The film stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Lawrence Fishbourne, Bryan Cranston, Demitri Martin, and Elliott Gould.

Contagion” follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.
