Thank to the Director of Photography John Schwartzman ASC (whose in one of these shots ) we know that Sony‘s new Spider-man began principal photography on Monday, more scenes were shot on Wednesday and this time of Emma Stone at a funeral. As films regularly shoot out of order it does seem strange to shoot a funeral scene on the first week without the actors getting to know one another, but maybe it’s a dream sequence – that’s if those nightmarish type visions appear in this flick.
The scene being shot would seem to be that of a funeral for her father Captain George Stacy played by Denis Leary which explains why all the policeman are circling and why she looks somewhat paralyzed. We know that in the comics when her father dies by way of an event that Spider-man could not prevent, this makes her adopt the opinion of editor Jonah Jameson that paints the webslinger as a vigilante social menace.
Snapped in Los Angeles, the images were taken in front of a cathedral with movie rain adding to the moment, co-star Andrew Garfield wasn’t anywhere to be seen.
It’s set to hit cinemas in 3D on July 3, 2012.
