Sony has released the first teaser trailer for the long awaited 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise, Skyfall. Oscar winning director Sam Mendes looks like he’s done a fantatsic job bringing this enduring spy drama back to it’s former glory, crafting a sophisticated piece of entertainment. We don’t get to see Javier Bardem as the villain in this first trailer, but we do see Ralph Fiennes who was at one stage purported to have nefarious intentions, integral in the operations at MI6 and perhaps poised to replace Judi Dench as M.
The trailer starts off with a word association test for our favourite British Spy until ‘Skyfall‘ is mentioned, causing Daniel Craig to experience some degree of angst. The rest of teaser offers glimpses of the other casts members and locales, but for the most part there’s plenty of suspense and mystery in this first look at the one of the years most eagerly awaited movies.
Here’s the synopsis:
Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
Skyfall also stars Naomie Harris, Bérénice Marlohe, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCroy, Ola Rapace and Albert Finney.
