Here’s the latest trailer for Fright Night, an updating of the 80s cult-classic with more of a focus on thrills and action rather than the toned down exploits of it’s predecessor. Colin Farrell who’s taking on more mainstream roles these days plays the wickedly ingenious but evil blood-sucker, Jerry Dandridge. Anton Yelchin of ‘Star Trek’ fame, plays teenager Charley Brewster living with his mother Toni Collette, who along with his best bud ‘Evil’ Ed Thompson (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), begin to suspect their new neighbour of being a Vampire.
In the new trailer we get to see former ‘Doctor Who’ star David Tennant playing Peter Vincent, a Criss Angel type vampire hunter. In the new promo he comes across as a bad-ass warrior who also has a flair for theatrics.
Director Craig Gillespie and co-star Christopher Mintz-Plasse are promising more traditional vampire gore coupled with some foul-mouthed humour to spice things up. From the MTV exclusive, it looks like the flick should deliver both on thrills and spicy wit courtesy of the Twilight craze.
Fright Night opens August 19th, 2011.
