Gwyneth Paltrow Sings Live at Nashville

Gwyneth Paltrow 44th Annual Country Music Awards   on Wednesday night in Nashville.

Wednesday night at the 44th Annual Country Music Awards in Nashville, Gwyneth Paltrow made her live television singing debut. Looking fashionable in a thigh-skimming black dress and ankle boots, Gwyneth surprised many by appearing on stage at the Bridgestone Arena,where she performed Country Strong from her upcoming film.

The Oscar winner was strumming a six-string guitar for the number, and was accompanied by country legend Vince Gill. She smiled at the crowd most of time whilst closing her eyes as she knocked out the ballad.

Gwyneth giggled at the end of the performance and received a standing ovation from the country community, including Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and his wife, fellow Oscar winner Nicole Kidman.

Country-Strong-PosterHer performance is part of the promotional trail and acknowledges her accomplishment made for the gritty new flick Country Strong directed by Shana Feste. She plays Kelly Canter, a fallen country music star who gets involved with a rising young singer-songwriter played by Tron: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund.

The two embark on a journey to resurrect her career along with her husband/manager played by Tim McGraw who accompanies them along with a beauty-queen-turned-singer Leighton Meester. Complications arise from the inevitable romantic entanglements as well as their personal demons which threaten to derail them all.
