HULK May Hit TV In 2013, Possibly Solo Film In 2015

Hulk television series has been in development for some time at ABC withGuillermo del Toro serving as executive producer. Now with with the overwhelmingly positive reaction to The Avengers, especially Whedon’s iteration of the Hulk, the prospect of the character’s port to TV is looking all the more desirable.

ABC president Paul Lee had this to say regarding Hulk:

Hulk is in development.  It wasn’t going to be ready this season, but we hope it’s going to be ready for next season.

Could this enthusiasm also mean a new Hulk sole movie? Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige says that a lot of effort was put in to getting this version right, and cashing in on this Hulk’s popularity too soon could backfire.

Marvel exec Paul Gitter however tells a different story,  speaking with Forbes he hinted that the planned TV show maybe supported by a big budget franchise sometime in 2015.

That said, Mark Ruffalo’s performance as both alter ego’s is part of the reason why this latest Hulk has been embraced. While a new TV show would be cool,  TV effects won’t be on a par with the movies, and a new actor stepping into the character may undermine the groundwork laid in The Avengers.

Mark Ruffalo has signed on for six Marvel films, so he’ll be inhabiting this character for some time.
