An impressive first trailer has been released for Iron Man 3. This time Shane Black is in the director ‘s chair after the tensions between Marvel and former series director Jon Favreau caused something of a split – at one point he was looking to direct The Avengers but the struggle he faced making Iron Man 2 dashed those hopes. Despite the creative obstacles, he’s still on good terms with Marvel Studio’s president and Iron Man 3 producer Kevin Feige, and it’s good to see him reprising his role as Tony Stark’s loyal chauffeur ‘Happy’ Hogan.
This latest installment looks to be a dark entry in the series, with the wise-cracking Tony Stark facing plenty of adversity, plagued with the prospect of his world being shattered by forces intent on his demise. The villain of the piece is the Mandarin played by Sir Ben Kingsley, and Guy Pearce also looks to be something of a thorn in Tony Stark’s side playing Aldrich Killian, the creator of the Extremis virus.

As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
The film also stars Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rebecca Hall, Ashley Hamilton,and James Badge Dale.
