When it was announced that Jason Segel was making a new film centered around Jim Henson’s Muppets it was big news. The movie has been filming for some time and quite a few changes have come to light from what we knew about it earlier this year.
The film is actually titled The Muppets, dropping the longer title ‘The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made’, perhaps this was just too much of a tall order to live up to, after all not even Frank Oz is returning as Miss Piggy.

The film was originally slated to open Christmas 2011, however Walt Disney Studios announced earlier this month that the date has been brought forward and will now open on November 23, 2011. The film is being directed by James Bobin (Flight of the Conchords) from a script by Segel and Nicholas Stoller (Get Him to the Greek).
The other big news is that Paul Rudd who starred with Segel in I Love You Man was said to be voicing the new Muppet Walter, however this is not the case. That rumor apparently came about where a scene has Walter imagining himself as human, which is no longer in the movie.
As Segel tells MTV, all the puppeteers will voice their respective characters and Walter will be voiced by Peter Linz, pictured with Segel and Amy Adams on set.
As for cameos, the muppet films have always made this something of a treat and this new film will be no different. The updated list of actors reported to be appearing are Jack Black, Zach Galifianakis, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, Donald Glover, Danny Trejo, Eric Stonestreet, John Krasinski, Ed Helms, Lady Gaga, Alan Arkin, Billy Crystal, and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
