Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming western Django Unchained is destined to be the coolest throwback to the spaghetti western in years. There’s simply no other filmmaker around who’s knows the art of crafting a genre piece to this extent, and who’s allowed final cut by the studio. While current tragedies are questioning the violence in movies and games alike these days, a Tarantino flick uses violence that’s always consistent with the film’s tone, and it’s colorful characters – so when it happens – it’s all the more resonating.
Catch the new trailer which shows Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) mentoring Django (Jamie Foxx) in the ways of gun-fighting and bounty-hunting – set to a cool track by recording artist John Legend.
Django Unchained opens Christmas Day, 2012.
