Quentin Tarantino‘s latest genre bending epic Django Unchained is but mere months away from release, and the latest trailer is the best one yet. This time we’re offered a better glimpse of the main characters with an emphasis on just how much fun everyone seems to be having helping to tell what looks to be an incredible story. We also get to see how funnyman Jonah Hill fits into the scheme of things.
Leonardo DiCaprio is the stand-out playing the sadistic plantation owner Calvin Candie – Tarantino’s crash zoom style, a throwback to the visuals used in classic Spaghetti westerns; adds to the bizarre setting and his characters’ wickedly indulgent intentions.
Jamie Foxx stars as the titular Django, who teams up with bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from Leo’s clutches. Meanwhile we’re offered some sage advice from Samuel L. Jackson’s character, and there’s also a hint at the historical ramifications of this diabolical period in America’s history.
The film also stars M.C. Gainey, Walton Goggins, Garrett Dillahunt, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Tom Savini, and Don Johnson.
