A new featurette and internet trailer has been released for the upcoming action sequel Taken 2. Liam Neeson features prominently in both promos, and in trailer he warns us that he may come after us if we don’t watch. From the looks of it, Taken 2 is going to be more of a bloodath than the first – and audiences will expect Liam to be dispatching at least double the number of bad guys, just as long he does so in ways which exceed our expectations.
The sequel, directed by Olivier Megaton (Colombiana), sees the father (Rade Šerbedžija) of one of the kidnappers from the first film out for revenge. This puts the Mills family in the cross-hairs with his ex-wife, Lenore (Famke Janssen) paying the price and being taken.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.
Taken 2 opens on October 5th.
