If you’ve seen the latest Harry Potter flick, then you would’ve probably caught the first teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises which arrives this time next year. There’s plenty of expectation surrounding this movie and the first teaser is all part of the build up to the impressive story director Christopher Nolan has created with David S. Goyer.
The movie is still in production and so what we’re offered are very early sequences without any complex effects, though what the trailer does confirm is the battle that takes place between Tom Hardy‘s Bane and Christian Bale‘s Batman, and it seems that somehow Gary Oldman‘s Commissioner Gordon may have been injured in an earlier face off. It also infers that Batman may have revealed his identity to Gordon, who encourages the return of the hero to fight the rising evil – with an ‘Inception’ style crumbling skyline revealing the Bat-insignia as inspiration.
The teaser incorporates footage of ‘Batman Begins’ to convey a sense of the story coming full circle for what is billed as ‘The Epic Conclusion’, though it will be a shame if Nolan never makes another Batman and the Studios do they’re usual rebooting and screw up what is a masterful rendition of this classic comic book character.
All up the new trailer is pretty sick, fans will love it – hopefully a longer trailer will debut before Christmas to offer more than just a glimpse of what will surely be a massively successful film next year. Head over to the official Dark Knight Rises Facebook page to join the discussion about the new trailer.
The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20, 2012.
