Here’s the latest promo for Lee Tamahori’s The Devil’s Double that opens later this month. The flick is getting rave reviews for Dominic Cooper‘s amazing dual performance that delves into the terrifying world of Saddam Hussein and his even deadlier sons.
The film tells the story of Latif, an Iraqi Soldier with Kurdish heritage who is forced to become a body double for Saddam Hussein’s deranged and deadly, cocaine-addicted and sexually deviant son Uday. Though it isn’t a doco style bio, and panders to the action fan with elements of black comedy to both shock and entertain. While the flick incorporates actual footage of the first Gulf War and Kuwait’s burning oil fields to establish the setting, the film is said to incorporate more elements of fiction than fact – but nonetheless it’s meant to be extremely entertaining and one worth catching.
The Devil’s Double opens in a limited theatrical release July 29th, 2011.
