The new Sacha Baron Cohen comedy flick The Dictator is almost here, and in anticipation a red-band trailer has gone online. Cohen’s new comedy plays as a feature narrative this time round rather than the mockumentary style used in his previous flicks Borat and Bruno, so it will be interesting to see how long its humorous premise is sustained. Cohen has plenty of range as an actor and has been turning his hand to drama flicks more so of late, but it’s always good to see him do what he does best.
The new trailer offers some similar scenes – not too many to spoil the laughs; just more revealing. Also the first couple of minutes from the flick have been made available which shows Cohen’s character of Aladeen as a youngster.
Here’s the synopsis:
The heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.
The film also stars Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley, and John C. Reilly.

The Dictator opens on May 16th, 2012.
