Tim Burton’s DARK SHADOWS First Trailer

The eagerly awaited trailer for Tim Burton’s new film that puts a modern spin on the cult TV series Dark Shadows, has finally arrived.

What starts off like a classic vampire tale, quickly turns into a riotous comedy where a displaced vampire must learn to adjust to the new time in which he has awoken. Johnny Depp plays the vampire Barnabas Collins who’s been buried for 200 years and has to reconnect with his newly found descendants.

The 1972 time setting makes things look very amusing with plenty of wacky moments such as Depp encountering the marvels of  modern technology. Eva Green co-stars as Angelique Bouchard, the powerful and vindictive witch who turned Barnabis into a vampire before burying him alive. Michelle Pfieffer plays Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the reclusive matriarch of the Collins family, while Jonny Lee Miller plays her good-for-nothing brother, Roger Collins. Jackie Earle Haley is the Mansion’s strange caretaker Willie Loomis, and Helena Bonham Carter sports some goofy sunglasses as the live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman. The dazzling and talented Chloe Moretz rounds out the top notch cast as the rebellious teenage daughter.

Dark Shadows is sure to be another of Burton and Depp’s successful collaborations, not to mention a return to comedic form for the legendary filmmaker.

Dark Shadows opens May 11th.
