Vehicles From The New MAD MAX

George Miller ‘s follow up to his Mad Max trilogy has taken some twists and turns over the last couple of years, now it seems to be moving forward once more. Mad Max: Fury Road is set to star Tom Hardy as the iconic character, but it’s still unclear whether it will be a direct sequel or a story reboot. While the prospect of visiting the world of Mad Max sounds cool, unless the story is a total reboot – the prospect of Hardy inhabiting the Max character might be a bit of a stretch for fans.

Production on the new installment was originally was set to commence in mid 2010, though changes to the Australian landscape where Mad Max 2 was shot, created massive delays and has since forced the filmmakers to shift location to the desert plains of Africa.

George Miller has reportedly written a new trilogy, and shooting of the first part will now take place in Nambia this April. Cast members originally attached have likely changed, though Charlize Theron is still set to play one of the leads. Mel Gibson‘s personal life has greatly affected his career,  but hardcore fans would still prefer a continuation of his character – and there is speculation that he may have a cameo role.

Retreading the Mad Max mythos doesn’t sound all that appealing, though the action and road rage mayhem does offer major appeal – still a resolution of the story with humanity evolving beyond the nuclear wasteland would be more desirable.

The vehicles feature are part of the post apocalyptic world where man has salvaged the carnage from the waste lands in order to survive – though they look very similar to those featured in the original trilogy – as opposed to a fusing of more modern vehicles. Nonetheless check out the recent snaps of the vehicles that were in storage at Port Kembla before being shipped to Africa:
