Here’s a cool interview with visionary director Zack Snyder talking about his plans for the Superman reboot and the visual FX it will feature. His latest flick ‘Sucker Punch’ has been receiving a bit of flack for it’s insane visuals and somewhat shallow story, but nonetheless an accomplishment on many levels that only certain filmmakers can achieve.
While promoting the flick, Snyder was asked about the upcoming reboot, which is still some time away from lensing and what his approach will be towards the film. He reinforces that Superman will be his most realistic venture to date, despite the genre and the need for visual FX to make the character believable. He gives some honest answers, talking briefly about the casting of Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and discusses how he hopes to balance the visuals with the characters.
It’s shaping up to be a bold interpretation of the classic superhero and if his incredible work on 2009’s ‘Watchmen’ is any indication of what we can expect, fans should not be concerned but excited that with Christopher Nolan serving as producer and Snyder behind the lens, this should be an extraordinary superhero movie – that when the first trailer is released, critics are sure to be silenced.
