Josh Holloway joins Mission

News has begun to spread like wild fire that the latest cast member on board for the Tom Cruise ‘Mission 4‘ action extravaganza is none other than former Lost star Josh Holloway. Whilst rumors were circulating that he might be a contender for a Rockford Files TV reboot which have yet to come to fruition,  the film is a significant coup for the TV star and will be interesting to see if this is the beginning of bigger things.

Produced by JJ Abrams it seems likely that his name was dropped into the hat by you know who, but Josh is a popular face and can bring significant clout to his roles as he proved each season with his character Sawyer in Lost. Details are that Josh will play the newest member of the IMF team lead by Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. Holloway joins the recently confirmed additions including Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star Michael Nyqvist, Paula Patton from Precious,  The Hurt Locker’s Jeremy Renner and returning favorites Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg.

The film is being directed by The Incredibles animation master Brad Bird and is scheduled for a December 16th, 2011 release.

It’s currently shooting in Prague, with other locations set to lens in Dubai and Vancouver later this year.
