Tony Robbins first ever reality show ‘Breakthrough‘ has been pulled from NBC’s line up after ratings did not meet the expectations of the network. The pilot episode drew around 3.1 million viewers with the second episode experiencing a significant fall off attracting only 2.77 million.
Breakthrough showed firsthand how Robbins effects change in people and how this veritable force of nature has a remarkable desire to help those who have befallen a personal tragedy. The format of the show demonstrated the steps he uses and the principles he communicates to effect change, however unlike other reality shows it veered away from the proven formula. Most usually start off with 20 participants or so and along the way reveal inner truths whilst being eliminated one by one.
The show might have succeeded if the various stories had been inter-cut as each step was accomplished. The format presented seemed to rush through the transformation process and created a predictable formula. Unlike the other shows there was no bag of money up for grabs and the only prize for these everyday people was realizing the answers lied within.
However it is likely it will be on cables channels later at some point, head over to Tony Robbins.com for more information on self help, NBC is now streaming the un-aired episodes online for U.S viewers.
