If you haven’t already heard Charlie’s Angels is returning to TV in a reboot of the original series. The new show will introduce audiences to a new trio of undercover beauties without the martial-arts wire tricks of the McG flicks, and will offer more serious crime fighting adventures minus the campy characters.
Details are still under wraps, but one of the girls is said to be a former con artist, while another is an ex-Marine who knows her weapons. The third ‘Angel’ is said to have had her character re-tuned just before the pilot start date.
The reboot comes from Smallville producing and writing duo Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, so this new show could have the right amount of charm. Former big screen angel Drew Barrymore is an executive producer along with original creator Leonard Goldberg.
Robert Wagner will be provide the voice of Charlie, (lets hope they update the shoddy speakerphone) and playing the new Angels will be Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Annie Ilonzeh (Percy Jackson), Rachael Taylor (Transformers) and appearing as a much younger Bosley is Ramon Rodriguez (Battle L.A).
Charlie’s Angels is set to debut on ABC later this year.
