Lost alum Michael Emerson and The Passion of the Christ star Jim Caviezel have been cast in the new CBS crime drama pilot Person of Interest. The new show is from Jonathan Nolan who received an Oscar nomination for his work on the Guy Pearce mind-bender ‘Memento’ with his brother Christopher Nolan. It’s being executive produced by Nolan along with J.J. Abrams under his Bad Robot banner.
From Warner Bros TV, ‘Person of Interest’ focuses on an ex-CIA agent Reese (Caviezel) who was thought to be dead, and teams up with a mysterious and reclusive billionaire Finch (Emerson) to help prevent violent crimes in New York City. Taraji Henson has also joined the cast and will play a homicide detective.
The ‘Person of Interest’ pilot will be directed by David Semel who’s worked on the debut’s of such shows as NBC’s ‘Heroes’, and most recently ABC’s ‘No Ordinary Family’. Some time ago it was speculated that Jonathan Nolan would make the jump to directing on this show in the hopes he would tackle the Superman reboot, which later went to Zack Snyder.
At one point Michael Emerson was set to join fellow Lost co-star Terry O’Quinn in an action drama called ‘Odd Jobs’, though it did not go to pilot. Jim Caviezel previously appeared in the AMC miniseries ‘The Prisoner’.
Look for Person of Interest to debut in the new TV season.
