Production on the Dallas reboot is finally under way with TNT Greenlighting a new series. At one stage it wasn’t known if iconic actor Larry Hagman would be returning, but it seems he held out and got the right payday. Unlike other reboot shows like ‘Charlie’s Angels’ and ‘Hawaii Five-0’, the series will combine stars from the original with new cast members. Jesse Metcalfe who rose to fame on ‘Desperate Housewives’ and more recently on the short lived ‘Chase’, will be playing Christopher Ewing, the adopted son of Bobby Ewing. ‘Fast & Furious’ star Jordana Brewster is on board as is ‘Housewives’ alum Brenda Strong, other players include Josh Henderson (90210) and Julie Gonzalo (Veronica Mars). Their joined by original Dallas stars Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman as the iconic J.R.
The show has a 10 episode order to get things started, and will premiere sometime in early 2012, with a sneak peak airing during TNT’s season returns of shows, ‘The Closer’ and ‘Rizzoli & Isles’.
